Grades 8-12. Retro sci-fi aesthetic used to teach Newtonian physics and orbital mechanics through gameplay.
For this game, I was the Art Director and Narrative Designer. This game is a unique blend of the branded design for STEM Cases with a retro sci-fi and anime aesthetic. We were tasked with developing a game for teaching Newtonian physics with orbital mechanics. We were additionally tasked with making the design intuitive, not using any equations or math to onboard the students to concepts that would lead to them being able to successfully play the game. We consulted heavily with experts in aerospace in order to create assets and animations that were both fun and accurate. We successfully designed a complete visual system to meet narrative, learning, and gameplay performance requirements.
